<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "There is no fear in love".

He promises me:
  "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love". (1 John 4:18)

My response to the word:
  One of the greatest mistakes I can ever make is to be constantly fearful that I will make a mistake. God's love removes that fear from me. Though I do not know what the future holds, I do know Who holds the future. This knowledge gives me a feeling of hope, security, and confidence, because I know God loves me.

My prayer:
  Heavenly Father, you are love. Fill me with your love throughout this day.

Today's scriptures:
 "May the Lord Jesus Christ's good will, God's love, and the Holy Spirit's presence be with all of you". (2 Cor. 13:14 GW) "Our Lord is very kind to me. Through His kindness He brought me to faith and gave me the love that Christ Jesus shows people". (1 Tim. 1:14 GW) "This is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the payment for our sins". (1 John 4:10 GW)

Quote for today:
I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear. (Martin Luther King Jr)

On this day:
On 7th December 521, Columba was born in County Donegal, Ireland. About 563 Columba and twelve companions sailed to the island of Iona off the Scottish coast to spread Christianity among the northern peoples. There an abbey was founded and the Island of Iona is still a place of pilgrimage.
