Today God says:
"Jesus became poor so that you could become rich".
He promises me:
"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might be rich". (2 Cor. 8:9)
My response to the word:
God's grace is so wonderful. He sent His only Son, my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, from the riches of heaven to the poverty of the human condition so that I could be enriched through faith in Him. Even though I may or may not be rich in the things of this world, I possess the unsearchable riches of Christ.
My prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for blessing me with so many riches. The greatest treasure of all is to know Jesus Christ. He has truly made me rich, and I will remember the riches He has blessed me with throughout this day.

On 15th April 1806, Alexander Duff was born in Moulin, Perthshire. He studied at St. Andrews University. He and his wife arrived in Calcutta, India in 1830 after two shipwreks. He played a large part in the development of higher education, including founding the University of Calcutta. He was the first overseas missionary of the Church of Scotland to India. He returned to Britain in 1867 and died in Sidmouth in 1878.
On 15th April 1892 Corrie ten Boom, Dutch devotional author, was born. Her family was arrested by the Gestapo during WWII for hiding Jewish refugees in their home. Corrie's experience with the Nazis was depicted in the 1971 film, "The Hiding Place." She died in California at age 91 years.
