<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "Goodness and mercy will always follow you".

He promises me:
  "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever". (Ps. 23:6)

My response to the word:
  God's goodness and mercy have always been with me, even when I didn't realize it. His mercy is everlasting. I will walk in His goodness and mercy throughout this day, and I know the future will be wonderful because I dwell in the Lord's house forever.

My prayer:
  Lord, thank you for your goodness and mercy. As I go forth in your love today, I know they will follow me. It is so wonderful to know that I will be with you forever. You are so wonderful, Father. Please give me more revelation of your goodness and mercy.

Today's scriptures:
 "I want to make music to praise you among the nations because your mercy is higher than the heavens. Your truth reaches the skies". (Ps. 108:3,4 GW) "Do not let mercy and truth leave you. Fasten them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart". (Prov. 3:3 GW) "But God is rich in mercy because of His great love for us". (Eph. 2:4 GW)

Quote for today:
God gives us the ingredients for our daily bread, but He expects us to do the baking. (William Ward)

On this day:
On 22nd January 1855, Carrie Ellis Breck was born in Walden, Vermont. Although she could not carry a tune, she had a good sense of poetry and wrote many verses. Many of her verses were set to music, and we often sing "Nailed to the Cross," "Face to Face With Christ My Saviour," and "All the World for Jesus." The poems were written while she rested from her chores, her health being less than robust.
