<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "Keep your heart pure, and you will see Me"

He promises me:
  "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God". (Matt. 5:8)

My response to the word:
  Throughout this day I will seek purity of heart. I will keep my head and my heart going in the right direction, and then I will not have to worry about my feet. I realize that happiness, as Jesus pointed out, consists of a healthy mental attitude, a grateful spirit, a clear conscience, and a pure heart. I will strive to maintain all four of these attitudes throughout this day. When I fall short of the mark, I will plead the merits of the blood of Christ which cleanses me.

My prayer:
  Lord, thank you for making it possible for me to have heart-purity. I will walk in purity of heart today, realizing that one day I will be with you.

Today's scriptures:
 "The promises of the Lord are pure, like silver refined in a furnace and purified seven times". (Ps. 12:6 GW) "Every word of God has proven true. He is a shield to those who come to Him for protection" (Prov. 30:5 GW) "But if we live in the light in the same way that God is in the light, we have a relationship with each other. And the blood of His Son Jesus cleanses us from every sin". (1 John 1:7 GW)

Quote for today:
A baptism of holiness, a demonstration of godly living is the crying need of our day. (Leonard Ravenhill)

On this day:
On 24th August 1707, Selina, Countess of Huntingdon was born. She lived when the privileged could appoint their own chaplains. In order to spread her evangelical faith, she built 84 small houses, each with a chapel and chaplain. After her death they became the Countess of Huntingdon's Connection. About twenty still exist in England.
