<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I always hear you when you pray according to My will".

He promises me:
  "And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us". (1 John 5:14)

My response to the word:
  God hears me when I pray according to His will (His Word). Therefore, I will study to show myself approved unto God, a workman that does not ever need to be ashamed because I know how to rightly divide God's Word. God's Word is the bridge that spans the gap between God's way and my ways, God's thoughts and my thoughts.

My prayer:
  Lord, thank you for the confidence I have when I pray according to your will. I will pray your Word throughout this day.

Today's scriptures:
 "The Lord's eyes are on righteous people. His ears hear their cry for help… Righteous people cry out. The Lord hears and rescues them from all their troubles". (Ps. 34:15,17 GW) "O Lord, listen to my prayer. Open your ears to hear my urgent requests. Answer me because you are faithful and righteous". (Ps. 143:1 GW) "If you live in me and what I say lives in you, then ask for anything you want, and it will be yours". (John 15:7 GW)

Quote for today:
Too often we forget to thank God for answered prayer. Praise is the proper punctuation mark for an answered prayer. (Unknown)

On this day:
On 25th October 1400, English poet Geoffrey Chaucer died in London at the age of 56 years., having abruptly stopped writing his famous Canterbury Tales some time before. Though not a religious writer, his characters aptly illustrate the best and worst of the church in his day. Chaucer was buried in Westminster Abbey, a high honour for a commoner, and he became the first of those entombed in what is now called Poets' Corner.
