Today God says:
"I have given you a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind".
He promises me:
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind". (2 Tim. 1:7)
My response to the word:
God has imparted a new spirit to me in place of the old spirit of fear. He has renewed my spirit into one that is full of power and love. In place of worry and anxiety, He has given me a sound mind. "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear; because fear has torment". Fear no longer has any place in my life at all.
My prayer:
Lord, thank you for the spirit of love and power that gives me a sound mind as I go about my daily activities. Let your Spirit govern all that I do today.

On 26th May 604, Augustine died. He was the first Archbishop of Canterbury and was buried in the Cathedral. He was one of the first missionaries to Britain, King Ethelbert being one of his converts and bringing the country to faith in Christ.
On 26th May 735, Bede died in Jarrow, Northumbria. Also known as Venerable Bede he was an English Benedictine monk who was born in Durham in 673. He learned Hebrew, Greek and Latin so that he could better understand the Scriptures. He is also known for his historical writings.
