Today God says:
"Pray for those in authority so that you can live a quiet and peaceful life".
He promises me:
"I exhort, therefore, that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour". (1 Tim. 2:1-3)
My response to the word:
God wants me to lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and honesty. He shows me that this will be possible if I will intercede faithfully on behalf of those in authority. He also wants me to be thankful for my leaders. I will remember to pray for those in positions of leadership at all levels of government, in the local church, in my workplace, and elsewhere. Truly, I am thankful for each one of them.
My prayer:
Father, thank you for those you have placed in positions of authority. Bless them , guide them, and draw them closer to you. I intercede now for

On 15th October 1922, James Hastings died in Aberdeen at the age of 70 years. Born in Huntley, Aberdeenshire he studied at Aberdeen University and was ordained in the Free Church. He is best known for producing major reference works, including a 5-volume Dictionary of the Bible and a 13-volume Encyclopζdia of Religion and Ethics.
On 15th October 1932, a small group of people gathered at Liverpool Station in London to see Gladys Aylward off on her train journey to China. She had been turned down by a missionary agency and so set off alone. She could not afford to travel by sea, so went on the long and dangerous train journey.She became one of the most amazing missionaries in modern history.
