<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I have made all things for myself".

He promises me:
  "The Lord has made all things for himself, even the wicked for the day of evil". (Prov. 16:4)

My response to the word:
  God is the Creator of the entire universe. He is my Creator, and I realize that He created me in His image. He created me to worship Him and to enjoy him forever. Throughout this day, therefore, I will remember that God made me for Himself. I give my life to Him afresh.

My prayer:
  Lord, thank you for creating me in just the way you did. It gives me great pleasure to serve you, and I will worship you forever.

Today's scriptures:
 "So God created humans in His image. In the image of God He created them". (Gen. 1:27 GW) "He created all things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible". (Col. 1:16 GW) "Our Lord and God, you deserve to receive glory, honour, and power because you created everything. Everything came into existence and was created because of your will". (Rev. 4:11 GW)

Quote for today:
An infinite God can give all of Himself to each of His children. He does not distribute Himself that each may have a part, but to each one He gives all of Himself. (A W Tozer)

On this day:
On 17th August 1761 William Carey, pioneer English missionary to India, was born. He taught at the newly founded Fort William College of Calcutta from 1801 until his death in 1834 in Serampore, India, and helped found the Serampore Press, which made the Bible accessible to over 300 million people.
