Today God says:
"I am your defence".
He promises me:
"My defence is of God, who saves the upright in heart". (Ps. 7:10)
My response to the word:
I have surrendered my right to self-defence, because I know that God is my defence. He promises to defend me from evil, my enemies, those who persecute me, Satan, and all opposition. The Word declares, "Dearly beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath: for it is written 'Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord". I will obey the Word of God.
My prayer:
Lord, thank you for your Word which shows me how to conduct my life in every way. I yield my right to self-defence to you because I know you will defend me.
Today's scriptures:
"O my strength, I watch for you! God is my stronghold, my merciful God". (Ps. 59:9 GW) "When you call to Me, I will answer you. I will be with you when you are in trouble. I will save you and honour you". (Ps. 91:15 GW) "Don't take revenge, dear friends. Instead, let God's anger take care of it". (Rom. 12:19 GW)
Quote for today:
You are but a poor soldier of Christ if you think you can overcome without fighting, and suppose you can have the crown without the conflict. (John Chrysostom)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".

"We sing the praise of Him who died".
