Today God says:
"You are My righteousness in Christ".
He promises me:
"For He has made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him". (2 Cor. 5:21)
My response to the word:
It is simply amazing to reflect on the realization that Jesus Christ, the spotless Lamb of God, became sin for me so that God's righteousness could be imparted to me. I know I haven't lost the ability to sin, but I have certainly lost the desire to sin, and this is because of what Jesus did for me. Jesus became sin for me so that I could become the righteousness of God in Him.
My prayer:
Father, thank you for the liberating truths of your Word. Thank you for sending Jesus to become sin for me so that your righteousness could be manifested in my life. I will walk in your righteousness throughout this day.

On 14th April 1839 the first Freewill Baptist chapel was dedicated in India. In 1830, Amos Sutton had been sent to India as a missionary doctor by the General Baptists of England. The work became so intense that his American wife urged him to write for help from the Freewill Baptists of America - but he had no address. When a fragile package arrived for him it was wrapped in the newspaper of the Freewill Baptists. In due course 21 workers joined him in India.
On 14th April 1759, George Frideric Handel died at age 73 years and was buried at Westminster Abbey. He was composer of many works including The Messiah.
