<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I will be with you always".

He promises me:
  "Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world". (Matt. 28:20)

My response to the word:
  Jesus is always with me. I am in Him, and He is in me. His abiding presence, through the power of the Holy Spirit, keeps me going. How I cling to His wonderful promise that He will be with me forever, even unto the end of the world. This important statement formed the final part of Jesus' farewell address to His disciples. It is the last line in His charge to them - the Great Commission. The fact that Jesus rose again and is alive today makes all the difference in the world.

My prayer:
  Heavenly Father, I believe your Word. It is a treasure chest of truth and life to me. It is so wonderful to know that Jesus will be with me throughout this day. I choose to walk in His presence, drawing upon His power each moment. Thank you, Father.

Today's scriptures:
 "You make the path of life known to me. Complete joy is in your presence. Pleasures are by your side forever". (Ps. 16:11 GW) "Let's come into His presence with a song of thanksgiving. Let's shout happily to Him with psalms". (Ps. 95:2 GW) "Don't love money. Be happy with what you have because God has said, 'I will never abandon you or leave you". (Heb. 13:5 GW)

Quote for today:
Jesus is in the midst, and because that is true, He is accessible from anywhere in life. This is good news - wonderful, good news. (A W Tozer)

On this day:
On 6th May 1868, George Washington Truet was born at Haysville, Clay County, North Carolina. He was soundly converted at age 19, during the annual two-week revival meetings in the little country church. He became pastor of the First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas in 1897, when the membership stood at 700. Forty-seven years later he retired, and the membership was 7,800, the largest Church in the country at that time.
