<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I have chosen you".

He promises me:
  "You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain". (John 15:16)

My response to the word:
  In this verse, Jesus promises me several things: (1) He has chosen me. I am His choice. I did not choose Him, but He chose me. (2) The reason He chose me was to bring forth fruit for Him. It will be good fruit and lasting fruit. (3) He wants me to use His name in prayer so that the Father will grant my requests. Throughout this day I will endeavour to be a fruit-bearing Christian and I will pray in the name of Jesus.

My prayer:
  In the name of Jesus, I ask you, Father, to help me produce fruit of the Holy Spirit in all the relationships and responsibilities of my life. How thankful I am, Lord, that Jesus chose me to be His follower.

Today's scriptures:
 "But the spiritual nature produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control". (Gal. 5:22,23 GW) "Because of His love He had already decided to adopt us through Jesus Christ. He freely chose to do this so that the kindness He had given us in His dear Son would be praised and given glory". (Eph. 1:5,6 GW)

Quote for today:
It is through accepting the circumstances that come to us in life that self is crucified. (Hannah Hurnard)
